John McMillan

John McMillan earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Southern Methodist University before graduating from Baylor Law School, where he pursued a concentration in criminal law. During his time at Baylor, John was an officer of the Criminal Law Society and tailored his coursework and internships to build trial expertise. Among other things, John completed Baylor’s highly competitive Criminal Law and Voir Dire boot camps, which gave him hands-on courtroom experience from the very beginning of his legal career. John also interned for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office, and an elite private criminal defense firm in Fort Worth, Texas, where he learned from experienced prosecutors and defense attorneys.

After earning his J.D. at Baylor, John worked as an associate attorney at the Kearney Law Firm, representing people charged with a wide variety of felonies and misdemeanors including DWI, murder, sexual assault, possession of child pornography, Medicare fraud, drug trafficking, bribery, and theft, among others. John next worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, where he specialized in DWIs and took more than a dozen cases to trial during his time with the office. This experience gives John a deep familiarity with the courtroom and positions him as an experienced and capable advocate from the moment a case reaches his desk.

John then moved to Wisconsin and began work at the Grieve Law Firm. He brought extensive courtroom experience, familiarity with prosecution and defense work, respect for his clients’ rights, and a deep ethical grounding to his legal practice. He is committed to passionate, persistent, and effective advocacy both inside and outside the courtroom.
